*killua moves swiftly down the hallway with alluka in tow, taking her far away from the dastardly elevator that made her and leorio lose their minds. unable to place the blame on either of them, and with no concrete way to punish the airship itself, his hatred turns inwards, his heart beating on the walls of his chest in agony for failing his sister once again. his only consolation is that he got there soon enough to stop them from going any further than they already had.

his feet instinctively take him back to his own room, where he shuts the two of them inside and sits on the edge of the huge king-sized bed, still holding alluka in his arms, unwilling to let her go just yet after what's happened. his gut still throbs with an unfocused yearning, but all that matters now is making sure that his sister is okay.

cradling her head to his shoulder, killua buries his face in alluka's silky mane of hair and apologizes for his shortcomings as her protector -- as her brother.*
