*frustrated with his failure to resist the elevator's effects, killua has upped his intake of spiked soda in hopes that he can at least conquer one of the airship's poisons. maybe that's what caused the lapse in judgement that has him wandering through the hallway, testing out unused doors for danger and promptly stumbling right into it when he manages to open one and feels gravity shift beneath him.

suddenly he's falling, yanked through the door as if it had opened up under his feet and hurled toward a forest that must be miles below. the wind rushes past him, pulling tears from shock-widened eyes and the capped bottle of soda out of his hand. he spreads out his arms and legs to try and build resistance but he doesn't seem to be slowing down, hurtling toward scattered treetops that get ever closer as he desperately tries to come up with a plan to save his own life. he thinks if he can at least use the trees to break his fall, he might have a chance to survive it -- so he balls himself up and braces for impact, striking one branch after another and slowing with each harsh collision until he finally crashes to the ground, bruised and battered but alive.

blood coursing with adrenaline and pain, killua lay curled up for a moment to catch his breath before trying to move. every part of his body is ringing alarm bells but his brain is trained to respond to them with measured caution, mechanically calculating the damage he's taken before he allows himself an emotional response, which comes when he finally attempts to uncurl his body and hisses out a bitter curse at the discovery of his shattered knee.*
