She tried to tune out the rest. Focusing on the rapid heartbeat in her chest. As her heart rate slowed, her hearing seemed to focus.
It was far from perfect. She could still hear everything. Two sets of heartbeats, their breathing, even the electrical hum of the lights. But it was enough to keep from being deafening.
I knew you said your hearing was good…but I never imagined anything like this. She said softly, holding awe in her tone. She thought her training and maintaining her petite form were stressful. But to hear so much at once, she felt it would drive her mad.
