body swap room (sfw)
*while walking back to her cabin, melody spots a door partly opened, with no one to be heard inside. was this a new room, or had alluka simply forgotten to label it? in any case, she's curious enough to slip inside, finding it to contain spacious ballet studio with mirrors along the walls. there's no apparent effect to accompany it, so melody takes her time wandering through it, drifting a hand over one of the wooden bars.*

i suppose it takes practice. you haven't been in my body long -- you don't know what to listen for yet. but i assure you, a heart can tell all sorts of secrets.
no subject
Bisky pouts at being unable to hear the difference. Maybe I’ll hear a difference..
She stands straight and taps her chin lightly. Why don’t you try and relax? Let you feel how it is to be when I’m all tall and bulky.
You shouldn’t have to worry about the clothes. Most of it is tear proof.
no subject
*she looks down at her slight, childlike body, brimming with wonder at the thought of unleashing its true power.*
i can't say i'm not curious! it feels so... impossible!
no subject
Of course I don’t mind! Bisky smiled at her friend. You know more about me than most. I trust you.
I will note, I’m not sure if you will be disoriented by it or not. You will be nearly eight foot tall if not taller. It’s been a while since I’ve measured how tall I am like that.
Not to mention my strength is more pronounced. So you have to be careful if you were to hold something.
no subject
*it's hard to truly relax in someone else's body, estranged from the sounds she usually uses to calm herself down. she wonders how she'll be able to trigger the transformation.*
how should i go about doing it?
no subject
Bisky paced slowly. I’d usually just relax, but it must feel different for you. She tapped her chin.
It would come so easy I never thought about it. Try some deep breaths and think of it like the flow of nen perhaps. As nen flows through your body, let the body relax like a rivers own flow. Like leaves being pulled away on a dry stream as the water arrives.
What do you usually do to relax yourself?
no subject
i can't hear it now, but... can give it a shot.
*she places a hand back on her chest, feeling bisky's strong pulse against her palm again. closing her eyes, she focuses inward on the flow of blood and energy throughout bisky's small body. soon, she feels her muscles swelling, expanding with each breath that fills her lungs. she keeps her eyes shut, trying not to get too excited and break her concentration.*
i... think it's working...!
no subject
Biskys eyes widened as she watched the slow growth, rippling around melody. To watch her body grow from an outside perspective felt strange. Watching it grow more muscular and taller. You’re doing great!
She took a moment and listened and noticed sounds she had never heard. It didn’t take long to realize what they must have been. The sounds of fabric stretching, the sound of muscles tensing and expanding.
She could even hear a change in the blood flow. It seemed louder. Less like a calm stream, but a powerful river. Wow..
no subject
in mere minutes she hits a plateau where her inhales and exhales even out, no longer facilitating her evolution. she opens her eyes with a gasp, staring down, for the second time today, at a brand new body. she turns a thickened fist over in awe, amazed it still fits into her glove.*
magnificent...!
no subject
Bisky looks up at her in equal amounts of awe and surprise. She had never fully realized how much larger her true form is.
Now I know how you felt when you saw me for the first time. She gently holds melodys larger hand with both of hers.
I think I understand a little more too. Your heartbeat is sounds much different than it had before…
How are you feeling? Does it feel strange to be so tall?
no subject
it's dizzying!
*she reaches out to brace herself against the wall, too tall to grab one of the bars, and accidentally cracks the mirror nearest to her when her palm collides with it. she gasps in shock, shamefully withdrawing from the shattered glass.*
oh my goodness!
no subject
Bisky winces, pressing her hands together. She stares at the crack in the mirror. “It must be more disorienting than I thought.”
Is your hand okay? Didn’t cut yourself did you? Although worried for her friend, Bisky knew it would normally take more than a shred of mirror to break her skin.
Maybe sit down until you can stand steady.
no subject
i'm alright! i just -- don't know my own strength yet, i guess! *she chuckles sheepishly, taking bisky's advice and sitting herself down on the wood floor. nearly eye-to-eye with her own body again, she smiles apologetically.* i'm so sorry, i said i would be careful!
no subject
Don’t worry about it! At least it was just glass. Better than your fist going through the wall. Bisky laughs.
You will get used to it quick. Maybe. It’s easy when like that, I often think of the world around me like it’s cardboard. Both my bodies have positives and negatives.
I suppose it’s not that different from your hearing at times. She shuddered slightly at the thought of staying at a cheap motel with such hearing.
no subject
*behind them, the door of the room discreetly cracks open. without her super-hearing, she doesn't notice it.*
no subject
Bisky giggled with her. The booming laugh almost drowning out the sound of the door opening. Bisky noticed the light creaking.
We have so much in common, it could be harder to find differences. Bisky looks towards the door before looking at melody again.
It looks like the door is open again, but I wanted to ask you something. Maybe while our bodies are still swapped, you think you could teach me to play the flute a little? Maybe you could try to summon cookie.
no subject
*relieved that they're free to go when they please, it's easier to relax in bisky's body, getting used to the feeling of taking up so much space.*
it'll take more than a single lesson to teach you how to play it, but perhaps my muscle memory can help you along.
no subject
Bisky looked down at herself, slowly patting her hands along the dress. It doesn’t take her long to find something ridged against her hand.
She quickly found the pocket and pulled out the shining silver flute. That’s okay. Even if it’s not with my own body, it would be nice to be able to play something at least a little. My big fingers wouldn’t be able to do much else than fight. She chuckles.
She admires the flute, the cool metal in her palm felt soothing. It feels like your nen has been infused into it.
no subject
*not daring to touch the flute with her own hands lest she shatter it like the mirror, she instead mimes the proper position in front of her lips, nodding toward bisky.* go on, give it a try.
no subject
Bisky nods and mimicked the position. The flute felt odd but also familiar in her hands. She tried to hold her hands one way, and her fingers would slightly reposition as if on their own.
She attempted to blow into it lightly and a shrill high note is what came out, causing her to wince and nearly drop the flute. Yep..didn’t have that right..
It seems you have strong muscle memory for holding it. I think the notes will prove more difficult.
no subject
here, try again like this. then move your middle finger to the one left of it, then your pinky... maybe the rest will come naturally from there.
no subject
Bisky nods, doing as instructed. It was an odd sensation being taught again. Particularly by someone younger than herself.
She blew into the flute again slightly, slowly moving her fingers as a simple melody flows out of the instrument. At first only the two notes as instructed, which soon added a third, then a fourth.
Her eyes widened and she could feel the heart in her chest flutter in disbelief. As it was only a sequence of repeating notes, she was ecstatic to even do that much! She could feel a smooth flow of nen surround her.
In her excitement, she missed a key and the melody faded, along with the flow of nen. That felt..nice. And strange. For a moment it was like my fingers were moving on their own. I was excited but felt very calm as well.
I don’t think I was truly playing it, if I’m honest.
no subject
perhaps our individual auras remained within our bodies. that would explain how i could still transform. i've adopted your abilities as well... shall i try yours?
no subject
Please do! Biksy insists. I think it would be safe to say our minds are the only thing that transferred here.
She gently twirls the flute in her hand. Rolling it over and looking at her reflection. Im not sure I have any instruction to help you bring cookie out.
no subject
*she retreats into bisky's body, closing her eyes to envision her aura billowing around her massive frame. it has a distinctly different consistency from her own, thick and lustrous compared to the fleeting gasps of an emitter. she concentrates on projecting it like she would her own, and finds that instead of breaking off from her body, something begins to form before her, taking on mass.*
a-am i doing it? *she asks, cracking open an eye to glance down at bisky.*
