Hey, Killua! I wanna show you this really cool room I found! But first, it's going to be pretty far. I have an idea, though! Why don't we use your skateboards?

[So they did -- Now they're coasting down the hallway, Gon on Killua's old skateboard and Killua on his new one, and the only sound is the drone of wheels rolling underfoot. It's a bit boring, staring at the same ground for a long time, but when they spot the outstretched door Gon leads the way all the way down to it.]

Now, before you go in, you're gonna wanna close your eyes and take a deep breath or you'll get really dizzy!

[He enters the door and is met with a stone room lit by torches. The exit is obscured by a waterfall. Gon takes one look at Killua and smiles before leaping through the waterfall, coming out a Rockruff on the other side.]

Come on out! I wanna see what you turn into!

Ow! [Gon yelps out in pain, ripping his ear away from the offending jaws. He quickly jumps away from Killua, barking as he prepares another Rock Throw.

The determination of battle makes his hit much more accurate as he slings more stones at his best friend.]

This is fun!

yeah!

*killua dodges some of the shards but can't escape them all, hissing as one strikes his flank. he skids to a halt in the dirt and focuses his energy, his body charging up in preparation to launch another thundershock. his fur stands on end, little sparks of static buzzing around him.*

better watch out!

[gonmorow]

[Seeing Killua charge up, Gon readies himself and starts running, hoping that Killua will miss a moving target. His little heart pounds haughtily in his chest with adrenaline as he stays on the move, focusing on the precise moment Killua fires it off.]

Can't get me! bleh!

hey!

*unable to contain the charged energy any longer, killua's body explodes with electricity, launching a much bigger bolt than before at gon. but the little dog is fast, escaping just in time for it to scorch the earth instead. frustrated with his failure, killua lets out a ferocious roar -- one so powerful it sends gon flying into the bushes. surprised, he runs over to find him.*

gon!

[gonmorow]

[Just when Gon thinks he's in the clear, a mighty force launches him back into the bushes. He yelps, landing bent over a prickly shrub.

Hearing his name called, he scrambles up and out of the bushes, wondering if Killua was still in battle mode.]

I'm okay! just a little scratched up.. and hungry.

[devil_or_angle]

*killua sighs in relief when gon pops out of the bushes again, glad he hadn't been thrown too far. he's gonna have to be careful with those roars.*

dummy... *he shakes his head hopelessly.* c'mon, let's find something to eat.

[gonmorow]

Okay!

[Gon shakes all the debris out of his fur and starts walking along the forest path, on the hunt for something edible.]

How does it feel being a cat? I mean, I know how it is in the cat room, but its gotta be a little different, right?

...after that roar, i think i'm more like a lion.

*killua walks beside gon, gazing at the forest around him with his wide yellow eyes. he can see so far into the distance that it feels like he can even see through things.*

it's fun, though. i can see really well and using electricity doesn't hurt at all. maybe one day i'll get this good at it as a human...

*he nudges gon's shoulder playfully as they walk, lashing his tail against his.*

i don't have to ask you what it's like to be a dog, 'cuz you already were one.

[gonmorow]

It really doesn't hurt? Wow, it sure looked like it did back there!

[Gon playfully nudges back, tumbling into Killua slightly because he's still not used to four legs. On the way down the path, Gon spots a bush just off the edge full of round, blue Oran berries. He gets close to it, sniffing them cautiously.]

Think we can eat these? I guess if they were poison, they wouldn't do anything to you, huh?

[devil_or_angle]

*killua scrutinizes the berries, giving them a sniff.*

who knows. the airship's been coming up with more and more ways to poison me lately. but i'll try them first.

*he takes a small bite out of one of them, chewing it carefully. he's been poisoned enough times to know what it feels like, know the sort of tang and burn to watch out for. but these just seem to be regular old berries, albeit not very tasty ones. he pulls a face, but swallows.*

i guess they're edible. not very sweet, though.

[gonmorow]

[Gon leans down and bites one of the berries fresh off the stem, slowly chewing it. It has a weird taste that he can't quite place, like a little bit of everything--except sweetness, which it is sorely lacking in. While it isn't anything very special, it reminds him of foraging at home, something that makes him feel homesick.]

They're okay. They don't taste wrong, so I hope they're fine. Or else Kurapika might have to come and dig our graves..

Hmm. I wonder what he'd turn into?

*killua eats another one, not enjoying it much but knowing he has to keep up his strength in case of a battle. he chews thoughtfully, then grins.*

maybe a pikachu.

[gonmorow]

[As he eats. Gon notices his body starting to feel marginally better after the scrape with the bushes. The energy he spent on his attacks slowly comes back, making him feel refreshed. These berries must be good, he thinks!]

Pikachu? What's that?

it's like the pokémon mascot. it's en electric mouse, and it's even blonde like him. *he snickers, cramming down one last berry to ensure he's at full health before they go on. he, too, feels the rejuvenating power of the food working through him, restoring his energy.*

think we can take on the forest now?

[gonmorow]

Maybe I'll look it up later! I'm sure there's something about it online.

[Taking one more berry, Gon feels full, easing himself off of them. Now, he was determined, ready for the forest and all the wonderful things that must be inside.]

I'm ready! Are you?

*killua digs his paws into the ground and bristles his fur, static electricity sparking from him in anticipation.* let's go!

*in a burst of light he dashes forward, rushing through the underbrush. the bushes rustle in his wake, hinting that they're not alone in the forest.*

[gonmorow]

Alright!

[Gon follows suit, taking off wildly down the forest trail at a speed not quite matching Killua's. When he hears the bushes rustling, he hops backwards, sniffing at the air. Something else was here..]

Hello?

[devil_or_angle]

*killua skids to a halt when he hears gon call out, dashing back to join him by the shaking bush.*

didja find something?

*his question is answered when a creature that looks like an overturned tulip comes waddling out of the bushes, waving its two leaf-arms to try and ward them off in what amounts to a pitiful display. killua scoffs, digging his paws into the ground again to gather electricity.*

c'mon, we can take this guy!

[gonmorow]

[The emerging creature looks rather frail, like a small gust of wind could knock it over with ease. Gon's glad he got turned into a dog compared to something like this.

Cued by Killua, Gon focuses his power in his neck and sends sharp rocks flying out, each hitting it in the head one by one. It gets badly scratched and already looks like it's about done for.]

Now I feel kinda bad...

*killua's electricity fizzles out when gon's stones nearly slice the creature in half. he starts to feel a little bad himself, grimacing over at his friend.*

maybe this one's too weak... *he starts, but is cut off by the sprout coughing up a thick cloud of some kind of... pollen? killua headbutts gon out of the way and gets a faceful of the stuff, which makes him instantaneously drowsy, tottering on his feet as he sputters.*

d-dammit, what is this stuff...?

[gonmorow]

[Gon nods, but is caught off guard by two things happening at once: The unexpected dispense of a sparkly, powdery substance into the air, and Killua hitting him. He tumbles out of the way and, watching the way Killua reacted to the substance, tries not to breathe.

Gon would have to use his rocks from a greater distance at the expense of his accuracy. To make up for it, he throws more, slowly chipping away at the Bellsprout's health with each meager hit. After attacking he checks up on Killua again, who doesn't look like he's in good shape.]

What happened? Are you okay?

[devil_or_angle]

*killua's legs crumple underneath him, his body heavy as lead as it slumps to the ground. he's reminded of the many times he was drugged as a child and passed out in the middle of playtime, except now, he has an idea of what's happening. gon's voice is muffled, almost sounding to him like a series of barks instead of words before his lagging brain deciphers the meaning.*

y-yeah, i'm...

*his unsure reassurance is cut off by a wide, feline yawn, fangs baring before his head drops to his paws, vision blurring and shutting out as sleep overtakes him.*

[gonmorow]

Killua! Get up! No!

[When he sees what happened to his poor boyfriend, his anger sparks and he launches himself at the Bellsprout once the dust has cleared, tackling it and frantically slapping its face with his paws until it falls. The Bellsprout is not long for this world, because it faints right away.

Pulling himself off of it, he quickly returns to Killua's side, giving him a nudge with his nose.]

Killua, the battle's over. Are you okay...?

*it takes killua another few minutes to wake himself up, struggling against the heavy blanket of unconsciousness weighing him down. he can still hear gon barking distantly, and he internally propels himself toward him, his limbs twitching and curling in his sleep. but only once all the pollen escapes from his lungs do his eyelids slowly lift.*

mm... hmm?

[gonmorow]

Killua!

[He buries his head in Killua's side until he slowly stirs awake. Hearing his meow perks his ears up and he stands up on his feet, getting a good look at the sleepy Killua.]

Did it hurt you? I got scared that you were dying..how do you feel? I wish we had hands to carry more of those berries..
