[Enjoying her newfound freedom, Alluka decides to go to the first place she'd been meaning to check out--Hot Topic. Every so often, the choices would change, so she was hoping to find a new selection of options to add to her ever-expanding closet. Today, she was wearing the outfit Killua had picked for her the other day because she liked it so much. Her strawberry milk sweater was soft and fuzzy and warm like sunshine. Her denim overall skirt is smooth with textured brass buttons and a pouch on the front.

On the way there, she spots a familiar red silhouette in the distance and gets excited immediately. Alluka takes off immediately, running down the hall straight for him.

She halts just in front of him, her exertion audible in her voice.]

Pairo! Hi! What are you up to?

Let's go then! [Alluka smiles and happily takes Pairo off to the Hot Topic. Only, when she arrives, she finds the front has been completely changed. Instead of the dramatic arch, it was now a simple set of sliding glass doors that were as black as night. She tilts her head as she walks in with Pairo in tow, confused. This wasn't Hot Topic, at least not the one she remembered.

A long, tiled hallway lies in front of her, and she looks around. There were signs and entrances for different stores, but she doesn't find the one for Hot Topic until she turns to her immediate right. There it was, the big arch she remembered.

She brings Pairo inside and glances around the store. The store is updated, featuring cuter options for girls like Alluka. For now, she was more focused on Pairo.]

There's T-shirts, hoodies, dresses, pants, skirts, accessories, backpacks, mugs, candy...what do you wanna look at first, Pairo?

is something wrong? *pairo wonders aloud as alluka leads him to the store, her hesitation confusing him. hadn't she said she'd been here before? he gives a little gasp of surprise when the doors then open up on their own, but follows her inside where she soon finds what she's looking for. the entryway looks like some kind of arch, which he draws his fingers over as he steps inside. the racks ahead are a blur of colors too dense to sort, so he'll have to judge what he wants by touch.*

let's start at the front and work our way back.

Okay! The front is where all the cool T-shirts are!

[She pulls him over to the wall of shirts featuring designs based on pop culture. She isn't familiar with any of the cartoons or bands, but some of the designs pop out to her. She spots a sailor moon shirt and pulls it off the shelf in her size, but thinks twice and holds out the fabric for Pairo to touch. It's a soft 100% cotton material and the design on the front is easily distinguishable by touch as a rectangle with "Sailor moon" written beneath it.]

What do you think about this fabric, Pairo? It's really soft, isn't it?

*pairo reaches out his hands to feel the proffered article of clothing, feeling around the sides and front to determine that it's a simple t-shirt, made of some sort of soft cotton material.*

it's soft...

*he can make out a splash of color across the front and he draws his fingers over the smooth ink, finding that there's an assortment of characters beneath the rectangular design.

oh! i can read this!

*he feels out each character in turn, murmuring the corresponding syllables under his breath until he's sounded the whole thing out.*

what's "sailor moon?"

[It was one of the few pieces of media she actually did know from the rack.]

Sailor moon? It's this pretty magical girl show! I've only seen a little bit of it, but it's really inspiring! I wish you could watch it with me, but just listening would probably get boring for you, huh?

[phantom_memory]

*pairo smiles at the sound of it, excited for anything fantastical. he holds the shirt in his hands, thumbs still tracing the characters under the design.*

i still think it would be fun! is it the kind of show you watch on a television? i've never watched one.

Yeah! You can watch with me in the cat room later if you're interested! Want me to get you one in your size?

[She looks through the shirts and picks one for Pairo.]

*pairo reaches out a hand to stop her, offering the shirt back.* let me see what else they have first, *he says, not wanting to be greedy by grabbing just anything he finds.* i've never worn something like this... what would go with it?

[awuka]

[She takes it back and puts his size back in the pile.] Probably a nice set of jeans, I would think! Or a skirt, if you like those.

[phantom_memory]

jeans? what are those?

*he's used to wearing a skirt, but not without something underneath. maybe if he layers the two, he'll have something he likes.*

[awuka]

I'll show you! There's a pair nearby.

[She takes Pairo's hand and guides him to where the jeans are. Once they're there, she pulls his hand out, placing it on the folded and stacked denim. Many of the pants are pre-torn.]

I don't find them very easy to relax in, but some are stretchier than others.

oh! it's kind of rough...

*his lips twist into a frown as he rubs the tough fabric between his fingers. he's used to thin, soft cotton against his skin.*

are there any softer pants?

[awuka]

You don't like those? Sure, I can find you something else.

[She spots a pair of soft, plaid pants in Pairo's color and lifts his hand up so he can touch it.]

Do you like these at all?

*pairo feels the next set of pants, pursing his lips thoughtfully. he likes the material, but the pattern on it is so dense that he can't make it out, making it a blur of color that isn't very pleasant to look at it. he reaches for the next thing on the rack and is surprised when his fingers touch a metal chain, which tinkles much like kurapika's in his ears.*

woah, what's this?

[awuka]

That? Let's see...those are "tripp pants!" [She says, reading off the tag.] Do you like the sound the chain makes?

[She pulls the hanger off the wall and holds it up so Pairo can feel the whole thing, shaking it slightly so the chain will jingle.]

*pairo giggles as alluka wiggles the pants around, hearing the chains jingle as they shake. he claps his hands together in delight.* i love it! it reminds me of the ones kurapika wears. he'll be shocked to see i have some, too!

[awuka]

[Alluka beams, remembering Kurapika. He was one of the first people she met on the ship and he awakened her to the potential freedom she had once she reunited with Killua. She hands Pairo the chained pants as she chatters.]

You're friends with Kurapika? Me too! -- but I haven't seen him in a while. He was really nice to me a long time ago. Do you think we could go find him later?

he's my best friend! i'd like to go show him my new clothes once we're done here. *he takes the pants from alluka and gives them a shake, thinking to himself that this would be a nice icebreaker in this peculiar phase of their friendship. he turns to alluka with a smile.*

what would look good with this?

Hmmm! Let's see..

[She scans the racks and finds a black shirt with "Hunter Hunter" written on it in white. Next to it are black and red striped sleeves with safety pins such through them. She takes a shirt in Pairo's size and holds it out for him as well as the sleeves.]

You should try these on! I bet they'd look cool on you~

*brightening when he hears the jingle coming off the sleeves, pairo takes the shirt and arm sleeves, heaping them into his arms along with the pants. his face flushes at the suggestion he change into them, and he looks around the room nervously.*

try them on? right here?

*he couldn't just take off his clothes in front of a girl... maybe she'd look away?*

No, silly! Here, let me take you to the changing room.

[She pulls him to the back of the store, ushering him into one of the curtained stalls and closing it behind him. Alluka calls from the outside,]

Just open the curtain when you're done, okay~? I'll be waiting out here!

oh!

*of course, a clothing shop would have some sort of private space for people to try out clothes before they buy them. having never been to one before, it never even occurred to him. he feels silly for getting so flustered, trying to will the blush from his cheeks as he hides behind the curtain.*

thanks...

*pairo sets each article of clothing down on the bench beside him, then starts removing his own garments piece by piece, folding them all into a small pile. when he's down to just his underwear he reaches for the jingly pants, pulling them up to his hips fumbling to figure out how to fasten them. they seem to have some sort of... teeth... in the center, and a button he can slip through a hole. he does the latter, finding that it seems secure enough just like that.

the shirt and arm sleeves are easier to figure out, and once he's got them all on he pulls open the curtain, stumbling a little on the cuffs of the pants.*

h-how do i look? do you think the pants are too long...?

[awuka]

[Alluka gets excited when she hears jingling through the curtain. She can't wait to see him in his new outfit!

When Pairo stumbles through, she's there to catch him in case he falls. But she notices his zipper sticking out of his pants. She simply laughs, reaching down to pull it up for him.

Pulling away, he looks really cute like that, his cheeks so pinchable that she can hardly resist.]

You look really good, Pairo! The pants might be a littletoo long, though. Maybe a smaller size would be better?

*pairo goes rigid as alluka reaches down without warning and yanks his pants closed, his vertebrae lining up with the teeth of the zipper. he grips her shoulder as his lips part in a surprised gasp and his face floods with heat.*

o-oh... thank you...

*released from her grasp, he wobbles on his feet as he tugs at the lengthy fabric, still flustered at how forward she is.*

i guess so...

[Pairo looks cute with blushing cheeks to match those sleeves. Alluka brushes her fingers through his bangs, pleased with his appearance.]
